I’ve been cheated on twice in my life. I say that because this isn’t like a “oh you’ll be more concerned about it if it happens to you” thing. When I was cheated on before, I broke up with them and moved on with my life.
I read a lot from people on here regarding checking your partner’s phone, wanting to control what friends your partner has, not wanting to be with someone who has friends of the gender(s) they’re attracted to (side note, what are bi and pan people supposed to do? Have no friends? Is this sub just a bunch of people who only date straight or gay people and that’s it?), and other things that I have never felt like doing at all.
The way I see it, if I get cheated on then I get cheated on, and I’m not less likely to be cheated on if I do controlling things. In fact, I believe that if I’m more controlling, then this will lead to more pushing against me, which yeah may actually increase my likelihood of being cheated on. And if she does cheat on me, for whatever reason, then we can just break up and I’ll be happily single until I find someone else. No big deal.
I don’t know how else to put it. The fear of being cheated on just doesn’t cross my mind. She could go to a club half naked and I wouldn’t be concerned in the least. I’d hope she has fun.
